We spent over four months in Australia. First, we flew in to Darwin from Bali, and spent a week touring the spectacular, mosquito-ridden national parks. Then we flew down to Sydney, where we lived for the next three months. In theory, we were there to work - to heal our bank accounts from the drubbing they had received at the hands of the touts in Asia. In reality, we spent most of our time on the beach. But all good things have to come to an end, and finally we parted company for a few weeks and flew up the coast: Dan and Grania to Cairns, Phil to Townsville. We then reunited several weeks later for a beach Christmas in Sydney before flying out to Christchurch, New Zealand.
