The Morning After The night Before After the storm had subsided and order restored we dragged ourselves up to Victoria Peak - one of HK's major parks - to take in some of the breathtaking views over the city, well maybe not in this one. |
HK Vista There you go - a site for bloodshot eyes!! This is the view from Hong Kong Island looking towards the mainland and Kowloon where we were residing. For the architectural bods out there see if you can spot the HK Shanghai bank. |

Group Photo From left to right Olly, Phil, Ellie and Dan. For those of you who don't know, the lovely Ellie was the one who took us under her wing, put us up and acted as our guide around HK. A "Big Up" to Ellie for her courage. |

Phil & Dan
Exhausted On our third day in HK we decided to take a trip to one of the neighboring islands to check out how different it was from the bustling metropolis that is HK city. We ended up taking a three hour trek through small villages and sometimes people's backyards before reaching our destination. These are some of the view we encountered. |
New
Territories View The view we received when we reached the peak. You would never have believed this island was half an hour's boat ride from HK city. |
Pagoda on
Hill Our eventual resting place at the top. |
New
Territories View #2 More views from the peak, it has a striking resemblance to some of the Scottish landscapes we've encountered in the past. |

Strawberry
Daiquiris Don't ask... Alright, Ellie decided to take us to one of her trendy SATC hangouts somewhere in the back streets of HK that served up the best daiquiris in town and they insisted. However, we had to don this get up before sampling the goods. |
Strawberry
Daiquiris #2 As you can see Olly and Ellie were lapping it up. |

HK by Night
#3 The city was like a light show in the evening, we even had fireworks every night for three days when we arrived, the reason for which has eluded me. |
Ellie with
Bodyguards The three of us standing guard outside Ellie's apartment block. |
HK Vista #3 The view that Ellie has from her terraced Garden. The one from the roof top terrace however takes the biscuit. |
HK Vista #4 HK is a pretty spectacular place alright. |
